The Lions Camp Pride facility in New Durham, NH is available to be utilized by non-profit groups and educational institutions for their special programs including conferences, retreats, and youth or adult camps.

Line

The facility is available for use between the dates of May 1 and October 1.  Spring, fall, and some summer weeks are available for day-long, weekend, and week-long or multiple week programs.

The facilities at Lions Camp Pride are fully handicapped accessible and include housing buildings all with full bath facilities, a soccer field, softball field, volleyball courts, extensive hiking trails, two protected waterfront areas, a low-level ropes course, a two story main pavilion for dining and indoor recreational activities, an arts and crafts building, outdoor pavilion sitting/meeting areas, and a full service health center.

Description of facilities

Line

Main Pavilion:  The main pavilion measures 50' x 100'.  The upper story contains the kitchen and dining areas as well as two handicapped accessible bathrooms.  The lower level contains two program offices, a conference room, storage rooms, and an open area for indoor recreation, meetings and arts and crafts activities.  Across the length of the front of the main pavilion is a deck with an overhanging roof suitable for group departure points, outdoor dining, small group meetings and other small group activities.

Staff Housing Building:  The staff housing building, fully heated, contains ten bedrooms which can each sleep 2-3 people.  There is a full handicapped accessible bathroom, two shower stalls, two half baths, and a conference room.

Shower Building:  The shower building has a girls'/women's side and a boys'/men's side, each with eight shower heads.  Each side also has a changing room.  Private showers for staff are available in the health center, the staff housing building, the one-on-one building, and the administrative building.  A laundry facility is attached to the shower building.

Health Center:  The health center has two bedrooms for medical staff, a meeting room for classes or conferences, one handicapped accessible half bath, a handicapped accessible full bathroom, a locked storage room for medicines and supplies, four overnight patient cubicles and a day bed area for short term care.  The health center is heated.

One-on-one Building:  The one-on-one building includes ten separate bedrooms of varying sizes.  The building is fully finished with three full baths and air conditioning.  It includes a common area for small meetings or gatherings.

Bunk Houses:  Eight bunk houses are currently built.  Each one can accommodate 14-24 campers.  A separate bedroom is available in each bunk house for staff which can accommodate 1-4 people.  Each bunk house has a handicapped accessible toilet, a non-handicapped toilet, one shower and two hand-washing sinks.

Administrative Building:  The administrative building has four offices, two conference rooms, a service counter and reception area, four bedrooms and two three quarter bathrooms downstairs.

Arts and Crafts Building:  A two story arts and crafts building with bathrooms on each floor is available.  The building is used for conference venues for meetings of up to 30 people on each floor.

Other Facilities:  Lions Camp Pride has two separate waterfront areas.  The shallow waterfront has a sandy beach with a handicapped accessible ramp way leading to a floating dock system.  At the shallow swimming area is a first aid and storage building which includes a 20' x 20' sitting area under and overhang which can be used for small group meetings.  A deep water swimming area is also available which has its own floating dock system.  Waterfront equipment includes life preservers, canoes and paddles.

A ropes course is available on site which currently consists of eight elements (Nitro Crossing, Mohawk Walk, Wild Woosey, Criss Crotch, Whale Watch, Swinging Tires, Old Web and Spiders Web).  An extensive "pack bag" which contains dozens of initiative games and other challenge field activities including "trollies" and "All Aboard platforms" are available.

A soccer field and a softball field with appropriate equipment and goals are available.  The soccer field also has permanent football goal posts installed.  A sand volleyball court as well as multiple basketball hoops, numerous books and games, archery and other athletic equipment, a public announcement system, a piano, an organ, a ping pong table, a bumper pool table and a pool table are also available.

Many tables and chairs are available for group activities.  A maintenance building houses all construction and maintenance supplies and equipment separate from camper areas.

Camp Pride has three Adirondack shelters which are available for small group outdoor camping or program activities.  Each shelter can sleep 6-8 persons

Line

An extensive camp fire area with inlaid stone seating in tiers is available for evening programs.  Adjacent to the camp fire area is a non-denominational chapel.  Lions Camp Pride is located on 335 acres so extensive hiking on a trail system and the opportunity for remote camping are available.
